Dr. Salz,
I came to you some time in August 1999 to see if I would be a good candidate for your hyperopia/astigmatism LASIK study. You were my fourth opinion and all the three opinions prior to you claimed that I would be a good candidate for LASIK. I not only had a very small degree of hyperopia, but I was mostly challenged with strabismus, which I informed all the doctors that I saw before you. You recommend against LASIK and informed me that there would be a good chance that I wouldn't have to wear glasses if I got the strabismus corrected. You referred me to Dr. Wright. My initial visit with Dr. Wright was in September 1999. I underwent strabismus correction in my left eye in November. I couldn't be happier with the results. My diplopia is gone, except for extreme left field. I'm having mild difficulty with adjusting to the astigmatism in my left eye, but this too is improving. My brain is gradually catching up to my eyes. Dr. Wright feels that within three months this won't be as noticeable and I won't have to wear glasses.
I send my sincere thanks for your
honesty, unlike some of your colleagues. I also would like to
thank you for the referral to Dr. Wright. He's a wonderful
doctor with regards to skill along with excellent bed-side manner.
Thank you very much!
